models

A few projects in which design concepts were derived primarily from crafting models.

Picture
PAPER MODEL (2011)

Model constructed out of strips of paper for a project in creating a structure inspired by clouds. Paper was selected to match the connotations of clouds: elegance, weightlessness and simplicity.

NYLON MODEL - SEWN (2011)

Model constructed out of sewn white nylon for a bathhouse project which wraps around two spherical bathing spaces. Material is sewn onto a framework composed of steel wires and then stretched downwards into the centre of these spheres.

TREETOP WALK MODEL (2010)
ABANDONED RAILWAY AREA AT SUNSET WAY/CLEMENTI

Project involved preserving most of the trees on site as most of them played critical roles to the existing activities on site: as a shelter for visitors, as religious entities and also as a sanctuary for animals. A walkway which also offers shelter was decided upon as an appropriate architectural intervention which enhances existing activities on site  and also expands upon the sensual experiences of trees for visitors.
