bird-watching tower (2011)
sungei buloh nature reserve

This bird-watching tower in Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve also serves as a hostel for backpackers and contains various living spaces, composting toilets and employs a water filtration system via reverse osmosis. Concerned with minimizing harsh invasions of the ground, this structure is inspired by Santiago Calatrava's Running Torso.

rejuvenation (2010)
pasir pajang road, singapore

Rejuvenation provides for the ritualistic element of cleansing, and involves a washing station that encompasses all forms of cleansing - bathing, detoxification, grooming, laundry cleaning, car washing and other peripheral activities. The building takes it form from a flowing river, and provides a sanctuary for visitors to seek rejuvenation via cleansing against the backdrop of the soothing views and sounds of a flowing river.

Railway Stations as Both Nodes and Places: A case study of the Suzhou Railway Station (苏州站)

A short study of the unique nature of railway stations in China as both nodes and places, and the importance of balancing between these two to serve as functioning public spaces that are of increasing importance in civic life. Today's railway stations depart from their former counterparts to serve as less of a 'place' and more of a 'node'. The main case study chosen is the Suzhou Railway Station (苏州站), and is accompanied by many transcribed interviews conducted with locals on perceptions of the station.
